Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 slices slices of your favorite bread (sourdough or whole grain)
  • 2-3 slices slices of cheese (cheddar, gouda, or a mix) Use high-quality cheese that melts well.
  • 2-3 slices slices of cooked bacon Cook until crispy.
  • 2-4 slices dill pickle slices Add more if you love the tang.
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for grilling) Butter helps achieve a golden brown color.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the bacon until it's nice and crispy. This can be done in a skillet or in the oven. Once cooked, place on paper towel to absorb excess grease.
  2. Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, layer the cheese, bacon, and pickles. Optionally top with another layer of cheese. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwich in the skillet. Grill until the bottom is golden brown (about 3-4 minutes), then flip and grill the other side until golden and cheese has melted.
  2. Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients and experiment with different cheeses for varied flavor. A preheated skillet will ensure even cooking.
