- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This is crucial for even baking.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Leave some small chunks for texture if you like.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Add the baking soda and salt, mixing well.
- Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the flour and cocoa powder until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- If you’re using chocolate chips or nuts, fold them into the mixture now.
- Grease your 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
