Method
Cooking the Beef
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the beef is fully cooked, drain any excess fat. Stir in taco sauce and let it simmer for a couple of minutes to enhance the flavor.
Preparing the Beans
- In a separate pan, heat the refried beans until warm and creamy.
Assembling the Burrito
- Lay a tortilla flat on a plate. Spread a few spoonfuls of refried beans on the bottom half of the tortilla.
- Add the seasoned beef, shredded cheese, and any of your desired add-ons.
- Fold the sides of the tortilla inward over the filling, then roll the bottom up tightly to form the burrito.
Heating the Burrito
- For extra melted cheese, wrap the burrito in foil and place it in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes, or until heated through.
Serving
- Slice in half, drizzle with extra taco sauce if desired, and enjoy!
Notes
You can personalize your burrito by adding more veggies or swapping out the beef for shredded chicken or beans for a vegetarian option. Store-bought ingredients can save time, but using quality ingredients will enhance the flavor.
